Newsletter Page

Purpose

Within the Newsletter Page all information regarding a specific newsletter can be edited. In the page properties it is defined which newsletter type it is (e.g. Monday Offer, Thursday Offer, etc.) On the Newsletter Page itself various teaser, headlines and article tiles can be integrated. The CMS automatically monitors if only 2 articles have been inserted in a row and adjusts the width of the Article Tiles in this case. As a result, these two tiles are displayed with 50% of the total width. If there is only one Article Tile in a row, it is displayed at 33% of the total width. The asterisk texts that might be relevant for certain articles are dynamically drawn from the website and do not need to be inserted on the newsletter template again. The newsletters created in the CMS can be directly transferred to Elettershop.

Configuration

To create the template, follow the steps below.

Newsletter Page, page properties, tab Basic

Step 1
Create Newsletter Page on the same structural level as the Newsletter Wrapper Page
Step 2
Integrate the following in the tab Basic:
- a. Name
- b. Titel long
- c. Choose Newsletter-Type from dropdown menu
- d. Year (the settings from the fields Year and Calender Week are needed for the Analytics tracking of the newsletters)
- e. Calendar Week
- f. Pre-Header (Preview-Text)
Step 3
Integrate the following in the tab Image Quality:
- a. Choose Compression of the JPEG images from the dropdown menu. (This setting specifies the image quality of the integrated JPEG images. The higher the selected value, the better the quality. However, choosing a value higher than 82, 5% leads to significantly bigger image sizes.)
- b. Choose Low Pass Filter (blur) from dropdown menu. (The Low Pass Filter puts a blurring effect on the images, which can be optionally applied before scaling down the images. Different filter kennels can be selected, ranging from 2x2 till 9x9 kennel filters. The bigger the filter kennel size, the blurrier the image will be displayed.)

Step 7
In the Drag Components areas the following components can be inserted:
Newsletter Headline, Newsletter-Teaser, Newsletter-Two Column Teaser, Newsletter-Article Tiles Parsys, Newsletter-Article Tile, Newsletter Text Media, Newsletter CTA
Step 8
Configure the Newsletter Headline as follows
- a. If needed check the checkbox for Sign-up link for tracking (If this checkbox is checked the Headline will only be visible for customers who haven’t subscribed to the Newsletter tracking yet)
- b. Text
- c. Choose Type from dropdown menu (select whether the integrated text should be shown, or if the Tipp-logo should be displayed instead)
- d. Choose the Headline Size (h1, h2 or h3)
- e. Choose the Text Alignment (left or center)

Step 9
Configure Newsletter-Teaser as follows
- a. If needed check the checkbox for Sign-up link for tracking in the tab General (If this checkbox is checked the Teaser will only be visible for customers who haven’t subscribed to the Newsletter tracking yet; the following placeholder needs to be integrated in the URL: [% tracking_consent_url %]
- b. Integrate Title, URL (absolute URL to the target page. It is important to integrate a URL into this field and not any placeholder text. Integrating text might result in a 500 error for the newsletter page.) and image in the tab HTML-Newsletter
- c. Integrate Text in the tab Text-Newsletter

Step 10
Configure Newsletter-Two-Column-Teaser as follows
- a. Integrate Title, URL (absolute URL to the target page. It is important to integrate a URL into this field and not any placeholder text. Integrating text might result in a 500 error for the newsletter page.) and image for the right and left tile in the tab HTML-Newsletter
- b. Integrate Text for the right and left tile in the tab Text-Newsletter

Important Information

All images used in the Newsletter Two Column Tile need to have a 16:9 ratio. They will be automatically displayed in the Newsletter relevant size.

Both columns in the Newsletter Two Column Tile need to be filled with content.

Step 11
Configure Newsletter Tile as follows
- a. Choose color theme from dropdown menu (the selected color will be displayed as background color for all articles within this article group.)
- b. Check checkbox if Tipp articles within the article group should be displayed as such
- c. Check checkbox Do not show article description, if needed. (When this checkbox is checked the article short description text will not be displayed on the newsletter. This should be used when this text is not maintained on the article, to avoid unneccessary white spaces in the newsletter
- d. If all articles within one article folder should be integrated at once on the Newsletter template, integrate the path to the folder in the field Assignment by path
- e. Additionaly, you can also select Assignment by category to filter articles into the newsletter tagged with a certain article category

Step 12
Configure Newsletter-Article Tile as follows
- a. Link article from promotion section
- b. Check checkbox if the linked article should be displayed as hero article
- c. If needed integrate a new image via drag and drop. This image has to be 383x383 px in size.

Important Information

To guarantee that all article tiles are displayed in the same height on the newsletter, the article name must not exceed a length of two lines. If the article name is longer than that the article tiles will not be displayed aligned.

Step 13
Configure the Newsletter Text Media as follows:
- a. Integrate a Headline
- b. Integrate a Description text
- c. Choose whether the alignment should be left or right
- d. Integrate an Image
- e. Choose the button style (Primary or secondary)
- f. Integrate a button label
- g. Integrate a button path
- h. Choose a color theme

Step 14
Configure the Newsletter CTA as follows:
- a. Integrate a Button Text
- b. Choose a URL to the target page
- c. Choose a Color Theme (if nothing is selected from the dropdown the default setting is cyan)

Transmission to Elettershop

The newsletters created in the CMS can be transmitted to Elettershop. To do so, please follow these steps:

Click on Transmission to Elettershop in the top left corner
Click on Transmission
A dialogue opens in which the Newsletter Type needs to be selected
Confirm by clicking OK
The Newsletter is now transmitted to Elettershop. If the transmission is successfully finished a confirmation dialogue will open
