Purpose

Every newsletter subscriber can also have a dedicated newsletter account. Here the personal data can be changed and the customer can specify which topics he is most interested in. The Newsletter Account Page is the entry to these dedicated Newsletter Account settings. For a customer to initially set up this Newsletter Account, the Request Newsletter Account Link Page is needed as well. Please find below a detailed description of what is needed to set up the Newsletter Account and Request Newsletter Account Link properly.

Checklist: Setting up the Newsletter Account

The Newsletter Account and the Request Newsletter Account Link Page are connected to each other and need to be set up both to have the whole Newsletter Account process work.

To set up the Newsletter Account and the Request Newsletter Account Link the following pages need to be set up:

  • Formpage with Newsletter Account
  • Formpage with Request Newsletter Account Link: This page is needed so your customers can initially request a link to set up their newsletter account.
  • Formpage Newsletter Subscription

Furthermore, a total of 6 Editoral Pages need to be set up, that are linked in the Components Newsletter Account and Request Newsletter Account Link.

4 Editorial Pages for the Newsletter Account component:

  • One, to let your customers know, that the changes made to the Newsletter Account are now saved
  • One, to let your customers know, that the link to the Newsletter Account is invalid
  • One, to let your customers know, that the link to the Newsletter Account is expired
  • One, to let your customers know, that the changes made to the Newsletter Account could not be saved

2 Editorial Pages for the Request Newsletter Account Link Page:

  • One, to let your customer know that the link to the set up the Newsletter Account was sent out
  • One, to let your customer know that the link to the set up the Newsletter Account could not be sent out

Configuration Newsletter Account

To create the template, follow the steps below. 

Newsletter-Account Tab “Configuration”

Step 1: Intgrate the following in the Tab Configuration

  • a. Integrate a link to your regular Newsletter Subscription Page
  • b. Integrate a link to the Request Newsletter Account Link Page
  • c. Integrate a link to a Editorial Page where you let your customer know that the changes that were made for this Newsletter Account were saved. This Editorial Page needs to be set up before.
  • d.  Integrate a Validity period for the access link (in Days): This specifies for how long the access link for the Newsletter Account which is sent from Salesforce is valid.

Step 2: Intgrate the following in the Tab Error Pages

  • a. Integrate a link to an Editorial Page letting your customer know that the Link that was clicked is invalid
  • b. Integrate a link to an Editorial Page letting your customer know that the Link that was clicked is expired
  • c. Integrate a link to an Editorial Page letting your customer know that the changes that were performed on the Newsletter Account Settings could not be saved

These three Error Pages need to be created beforehand by using the template Editorial Page and integrating the corresponding error messages on these templates.

Newsletter-Account Tab “Content”

Step 3: Intgrate the following in the Tab Content

a. Integrate a headline "Your personal data"

b. Integrate a headline for Newsletterselection (beneath this the selected newsletters for the dedicated Newsletter Account will be displayed)

c. Button "Save changes"

d. Remarks title

e. Remarks
