Release Notes 1-118

About the development of new requirements and optimizations of the Content Management System.

New Features and Enhancements

Deny access to foreign /content/aldi paths with mod_dispatcher filter rules

restricted content path

Access to the content of a third-party market is currently not suppressed. This leads to problems for various reasons and is also problematic from a compliant point of view, as an incorrect imprint can be played out or the cookie consent is invalid.

For example if an component on a Belgian page has content from path /content/aldi/luxembourg/

Therefore the access from one market to the content path of another market has been suppressed, and will lead to an 404  with the appropriate error side of the own market.

This applies to all markets of the plattform:

  • germany
  • master
  • showroom
  • netherlands
  • poland
  • portugal
  • denmark
  • spain
  • france
  • belgium
  • luxembourg
  • regional-be-lu-master
  • tech-hub-master
  • tech-hub-pl

Important Info:

Update: This topic will be deployed with Release 1.118 for pages only (not dam).

Shopping List has no logic for word-wrapping

Word wrapping for long article names

Long article names on shoppinglist tiles would be cut off therefore an word wrapping logic has been implemented to divide the word and display the rest in a second row.

Logic behaves as following:

  • If the word contains a hypen "-" then the word will be divided at the "-" and the rest will be displayed in the second row
  • If the article name has no hypen then the long word will be displayed in the second row
  • If it is one only long title then it will be divided when the limit of the tile has reached

Overlays do not open for products with videos

Until now when clicking on a product, that contains a video in the gallery, no iPaper overlay would open.

Therefore the behavior has been enhanced and products with videos in the gallery will also open the iPaper overlay. The video will not autoplay, only when the user clicks on play and pause when clicked on pause.

Improve Performance of non-offer pages

We have noticed that the non-offer pages respond much slower than the offer pages. This is much more noticeable since the offer pages now have lazy loading implemented. The pages that have the slowest response times have huge amounts of content (similar to the offer pages).

Therefore some improvements have been made in the code to decrease loading time of the article tiles.

Results:

Rendering time of the Tiles have been improved from 45ms to 42ms.

In a next step the lazy loading will be imrpoved as well (coming in future Releases).

Rework Update and Deployment of Test-Content for App-Team on PreProd

The App (QA) team needs test content in the CMS on PRE. In coordination with the app team, it became clear that adjustments and extensions of the test content will continue to be necessary in the future.
Currently, we provide this test content in the so-called "config-restoration" package, which is installed again and again after cloning. But this package was initially to restore configs in the AEM after cloning. Also using it for providing Test content results this package to be huge and cause issues with Fortify security scan.

Therefore a new procedure has been created to provide the App test content.

A separate package will be created and used only for test content purpose. Also a separate job will be set up that gets triggered automatically after the cloning to make sure that the package will be installed automatically.

Bugfixes

  • Start page for LU throws an error - During the process of implementing the topic "Improve Performance of non-offer pages" this bug appeared which gave an error when opening the LU startpages.

DE - Label "only online" is no longer displayed for online store items

The label "only online" would not be displayed on the article tiles even if the flag was activated in the properties. Root cause is here that the flag is displayed but the background specification is missing due to a cut off css class. This has been corrected.

only online flag
  • NSL2 - Counter and amount of items do not match - When adding products to shoppinglist and then invalidate one or a few of those products in AEM the shoppinglist would behave as following:
    • Notification hint that the product has been removed is shown
    • Counter does not reflect this information
    • This has been fixed so that the counter counts down when products become invalid.
  • BE - [HR] INT - Location Suggestions on Jobsearch V2 - It has been noticed that the web service, which is supposed to provide location suggestions based on an input of postcode or city, does not work properly. This has been fixed and appropiate suggestions will be made in the Jobsearch V2.
