About the development of new requirements and optimizations of the Content Management System.

New Features and Enhancements

Internationalization of Job Search V2

Jobsearch V2 labels

The internationalization for the Jobsearch V2 has been extened and completed. The remaining german wordings can be configurated like all other labels.

You can find the label fields within the properties of Job Search V2 page, then go to tab "Job Search Page" there you can find:

  • In the Section "Translation Labels " the field "Headline"
  • In the Section "Translation Labels " the field "no perimenter chosen"
  • In the Section "Translation Labels "choose a suggestion"
  • In the Section "Buttons" the label field "Search"

Note: In the Upcoming Release 1.109: Label for "fulltime job" and "parttime job" will be removed from AEM dialog but instead they will be imported from TalentLink directly.

Tab module: Load content of all tabs in HTML code

To optimize the use of the tab modul from SEO perspective, an enhancement has been implemented.

Therefore all content from all tabs (instead of only from the first Tab) will be loaded into the html code to make sure that the search engine can read it with certainty. This also optimizes the ranking on the search results page of the respective keywords.

Implement the ALDI design to ipaper component

At the moment the used iPaper design for the "add to shoppinglist" button doesn't look like the used design on article detail pages. Therfore follwing aspects have been updated:

  • CTA in the iPaper Overlay is displayed as secondary
  • Increasing the article amount can be done on the iPaper Overlay as well (with + and -)
  • Feddback notification is being displayed when the article has been added or removed from Shoppinglist
  • Add to shoppinglist CTA will not be displayed when the article is not available anymore

Find store component

Find store component

A new deature has been added to promote Uberall. The component lets the user, who wants to search for a specific store, enter a Postcode or city name. After the user clicks on search button he will be forwareded to the Uberall Page with the included search term.

The component is not allowed on the templates:

  • Recall template
  • Forms

Improve SEO capabilities of new page type "Product Viewer"

The Page Template "Product Viewer" had some room for SEO improvements. Therefore following aspects have been.

Enhancements:

  1. In the current version, the Product Viewer ignores the meta titles of the previous handling instead the meta title of the assortment page or the product viewer appears. The meta tag og:title is stored correctly, but the actual output of the rendered URL is not.
    • Both <title> from og:title brand, product name and the stored suffix is rendered for PDPs
  2. The same applies to the meta description
    • Meta-description and og:description are now both product-specific
  3. The canonical tag was always /assortment.html
    • Canonical URLs now points to the PDP
  4. Product slider for related-products is also displayed when the page is called without #

Show maximum of two instead of three flags on the algolia article tile

It has been decided that on algolia article tiles it should be only displays a maximum of 2 Flags, instead of the current three.

Therefore only 2 Flags will be displayed at most. The priority order however will remain the same which means:

  1. Recall flag →  has prio, if set, no further flag is displayed
  2. Sold out, not available →  has prio, if set, no further flag is displayed
  3. Remaining flags (max 2) in the order
    • promotionDate
    • availability
    • recommendation
    • marketiglabel

Data Attribute Content Tile

The Content Tiles on the Search Result Page were missing two data attributes, which have been added.

  • Data attribute name = Content Tile - Level 1
  • Data attribute value = "Title if Content Tile"

Bigger pages in iPaper integration and enhanced article layer

Ipaper overlay

Currently, the presentation of the digital magazine in the desktop is sometimes relatively small. Therefore the sizes have been adjusted and the the height of the iFrame is more oriented towards the desktop/ viewport size.

  • Mobile Viewport up to 768px → Height will stay at 550px
  • Viewports with range of 768px-1024px →  Displayed height will be 590px
  • Viewports with 1024px and more → displayed height will be 780px

The overlay behavior got improved as well, until now when the user was in a active article overlay it was only possible to close it with back button. The enhancement however allows the user to close the Overlay with a click outside of the overlay.

"Sold out" and "not available" articles on shopping list cannot be deleted

Shoppinglist

Until now when sold out and not available articles are on the shopping list it was not possible to delet them via button. The only chance to delete them is by clicking on delete list, which would also delete the articles that are available.

Therefore this option has been added to delete each sold out or not available article separately from the shoppinglist

Keep cid Parameters when redirecting

Currently if a page has been renamed, for example from next to current week or the page no longer exists and the user therefore gets redirected, then all cid parameters on the URL are lost during the redirect.

This has been enhanced so that in case the user gets redirected, the cid parameters located at the URL are transferred during the redirect and appended to the end of the new URL.

Not land in home page per default when changing region, land in equivalent page

Currently there are 3 regions on spanish ALDI website, so when the user changes the region a "region-conflict pop up" appears where the user can click on 2 buttons, confirm or cancel.

However since only the Mainland (Peninsula) pages are indexed online, all the users from either Canary or Balearic Islands that use Google to search "aldi offers" for example, they'll just find Peninsula URLs. So if the user (not from Mainland) clicks on the first page that appears in Google is aldi.es/ofertas.html, he lands on Ofertas but the region-change popup will appear. If he chooses to stay in Canarias he'll be landed to the home page of Canarias and if he chooses to change the region he will go to the home page of the new region (Peninsula in that case). So he will never see the actual content that he was looking for. Same issue for sahred links or links posted on social media.

Therefore a matching logic has been implemented between contents when building links of variants.

So when requesting a specific page, for example www.aldi.es/ofertas/cacahuetes-6008-2-0.article.html (main website), if the user's selected region (for example "Canarias") is not correct for that page, the region-conflict pop-up will be displayed where the option CONFIRM includes normal HTML links to one of these 3 assumptions:

  1. If there is a specific equivalent page
    • Links to equivalent page URL in user's region. For example, www.aldi.es/can/ofertas/cacahuetes-6008-2-0.article.html.
  2. If there is no equivalent specific page
    • Links to parent node (or category) page URL. For example: www.aldi.es/can/ofertas.html.
  3. If there is no equivalent specific page, nor a suitable immediately superior page or node:
