About the development of new requirements and optimizations of the Content Management System.
The ALDI Nord logo will be updated in order to be internationally uniform on all digital touchpoints and to meet the requirements of the corporate design.
The protection zone of the logo is respected (1/5 X) also the logo can be scaled to a minimum width of 50 px. It will be positioned at the top left (in the new navigation concept). The logo must not be distorted, changed or modified under any circumstances.
The logo will be exchanged on all Consumer websites, Corporate websites and also within the App Logo in the footer and corresponds to the specifications of the CD.
A new slider component has been created which can help the user to jump into different headlines within the page. The slider works with anchor IDs which means that all Headlines should have a setted anchor ID and should be in h2.
After adding the component into the page, the settings can be opened and all the anchor IDs can be selected via "add" also the order of the anchors can be determined by the CM. A title can be also added.
The anchorlinks will be displayed as "chips" in the component.
The use of the Recipe Special Slider has been extended so it is now possible to integrate it into editorial pages. This gives more possibilities in cross content integration between editorial content and related recipes.
Until now the Quicklink component was only allowed to be used in the consumer homepage and also only at the beggining of the page.
This has been adjuste: the Quicklink component is now available on two additional templates:
Also the component can be added on the whole page.
After gaining feedback on it, the Product Slider was adjusted.
Templates it can now be used on:
New Features of the Product Slider:
The following design adjustments were performed on the Content Slider:
Customers should not accidentally click on the slider because they did not notice that the next / back button is grayed out. Therefore, the back button on the first slide as well as the next button on the last slide will not be clickable.
With the switch to the new article tile, some fields were added to the article CSV import that could not be imported via the article import. In order to be able to import these new fields, the article import has been extended accordingly by the following fields:
Important Information
There is a special condition to localized Lables - either all has a value which should be imported or none. In case of only a few localized Lables are filled an error could appear and hinder the import.
A phenomenon was investigated in the Shopping List where the item tiles of certain promotional items are not displayed even though this product is in the local storage and is added to the number on the Shopping List icon at the top right.
The explanation for this is that promotion day pages are moved to the "archived-promotion-pages" directory after approx. 2 months and the content path to the article tile, which is stored in the local storage, is no longer correct.
This has been fixed and Promotional articles are no longer on the shopping list (nor in the counter of the icon) after the 2 months, assortment articles are removed immeadiately after they have been taken out of the assortment.
Currently, if a user activates the reminder service a confirmation window opens that the Email confirmation link which has been sent via email needs to be clicked to. Since the sub headline of this text is in a blue box users think "Please confirm ..." is a CTA and click there.
Therefore, the presentation has been optimized (color has been changed into grey) so that users understand that this is no CTA and they still have to confirm the email.
Currently, almost all URLs are included in one or more of the three sitemaps. It has been now found that in certain cases this can lead to indexing problems with Google. Therefore, some adjustments have been made:
If a job does not contain a label for its job category in the TalentLink data, it will not be imported by the validation. The incomplete job category is created and imported with the label "null". This leads to an error in the Job Search dropdown. Therefore, Job categories, job types and career levels are not imported if they do not have a label so only complete job categories will be imported.
There is currently no uniform icon set and naming. In addition, the style guide has not been included as a leading instance in the development process. This has led to discrepancies between the style guide and the design system over time.
To reduce the discrepancies, a uniform icon set has been defined for all instances. Icons that were not included previously in the style guide but used at the same time, have been viewed and added to the style guide.
Send breadcrumb to algolia
Unfortunately, it is not enough for the categories in the feed to just send the last level of a category to Algolia. Therefore, all category levels should be send to Algolia.
All in all, Categories will be send as a path, Labels for the translation are also send and a multilingual set-up for labels is guaranteed.
Update to full export job
In order for Algolia to be up to date in the indeces, a full export job will be performed every night. There will also be a Validity check where the index is cleared before the transport handler transfers the data to Algolia.
ShortDescription field is provided by wrong field
After checking the index, it was discovered that the shortDescription field in the Algolia Index is filled by the teaserText field from the AEM. This is not correct, it should be the shortText field from the AEM that is the source for it.
Therefore, some changes have been made:
For the extended regionalization in Spain, some basics must be created in the CMS code:
All articles on a offer page, including the region information, should be forwarded to Salesforce. Therefore, when a landing page for a region is published, the region identifier (RegionCode) is transmitted with the corresponding article in Salesforce. On the Salesforce end, the RegionsCode is stored in the DataExtension.
Due to the regionalization it can happen that the shoppinglist contains articles which have been added while the user was in a different region. For this scenario the articles which has been added from another region will not be displayed after switching the region. In addition a Note (which can be edited) will be displayed in the shopping list.
The text can be edited in the page properties of the shoppinglist.
Some hosting configurations for canary and balearic islands have been made.
The implementation of the technical concept concerns INFRA (Arvato, Cloudfront, Hosting-Repo, CMS-publishmaps, server-configs). Also no subdomains are created (SEO requirement).
The current logic of 4 regions will remain: Standard = mainland, reg-can, reg-bal, reg-cat.
In the implementation of the region selector the following adjustments were made:
