Release Notes 1-90

About the development of new requirements and optimizations of the Content Management System.

New Features and Enhancements

Implement new navigation concept

New Main Nav

Since the switch to the new Main and Meta Navigation is planned for GoLive of Release 1.91 (08.09.2021) we want to clarify a few things which you should be aware of for this switch.

The two major changes which needs some prep work from the markets in advance are:

  1. The limitation of 6 category links on the Main Navigation
  2. The limitaion of 3 category links on the Meta Navigation

In terms of these two changes it is impotant to 1. re-organize your Main navigation and shorten it down to 6 catgegory links 2. shorten the Meta Navigation down to 3 category links. The rest of your current category links must be placed elsewhere (in a different navigation level).

These changes must be executed fully before GoLive of Release 1.91 (08.09.2021).

How to move the remaining category links elsewhere:

After deciding where to integrate the remaining category links from the first level navigation you have to follow these steps.

  1.  Prepare a redirect list with the new position of the remaining pages (old and new URL paths)
  2. Get in touch with us (support) and hand us the mentioned redirect list so we can do a double check
  3. If everything is fine with the redirects we can plan the actual switch of the pages together

IMPORTANTThe redirect lists should be handed in until the 18th of August by latest so it can be planned into the Release of 1.91. This applies only to the redirect lists the actual moving of the pages can be performed until the 7th of September.

NL - Redirects ALDI Merken

Since the structure for ALDI Merken on dutch website has been changed and reorganized, some permanent redirects needed to be done.

Clean up old tipp01 InfoBox component

It has been decided to remove the old Tipp01 variant of the InfoBox Component from the code. Which means that this componenr can not be found or used in the AEM anymore from next Wednesday on.

Article Tile Display Special Text

When using the Special Text on the Article Tiles the Base Price was no longer displayed on the small article tile on the overview page. This behavior is now changed so both Special Text and Base Price are being displayed.

This has already been part of the last release and thus already visible on the live pages.

Within the Page Properties, the Meta Robots as well as the Canonical Link can be set by authors. If the Meta Robots is set to "noindex" and at the same time a Canonical Link is defined, the Canonical Link gets ignored by Google, since this setup is viewed as a contradiction.

Therefore, it is now no longer possible to define the Meta Robots of a page with "noindex", while at the same time indicating a Canonical link. So if a Canonical link is specified, the selection of "noindex" is no longer possible and if "noindex" is chosen a Canonical link cannot be set.

Alert message for Article Excel Export

Alter message

Within the Article Overview and Search Area a list of articles can be exported to an Excel file. However, if for a certain search timespan too many articles are found, the export will not be started. If such a case occurs, the system will now display a warning message to alert the author that too many articles would be exported.

Interface Failure Notification when importing job data

If the import of job data does not work, a failure notification is send out to the admins containing the feedback for which market it applies and what the reasons for the failure were (e.g. invalid or empty jobs, threshhold limit of jobs has been exceeded.)

Requisition ID on job detail page

Requisition ID

For a job posting a unique job ID should be displayed to the user which the recruiter can also find easily in Talentlink. Currently, the job does contain just the posting id, which is a unique numeric code, but cannot being searched in TalentLink.

Therefore, a new field can be displayed on the Job Detail Page showing the unique requisition ID above the location.

A label for this ID can be sprecified within the Page Properties of the Job Detail Page. The new Requisition ID will only be displayed if both label is set and the job data contains a jobNumber

DEV3 MDS: Jobs cannot be imported on testing environment

The Job Import from Talent Link was not supported on lower testing environments. The configuration has therefore been adjusted, so that an import can now be performed.

Adjust new recall component

The links within the recall component have been adjusted, so when hovering over them they will be displayed underlined.

FAQ Component - All static content should be managable

FAQ Component

The labels within the FAQ component had until now been integrated in the code and could not be changed by the author. This has now been adjusted and all labels within the component can be edited and adjusted by the authors, e.g. the headline, the labes for results, or the notification if no results were found.

Newsletter - Image Sizes

With the new Article Tile display also the image renditions for the newsletter had to be adjusted to ensure a good display of the images from the article tiles also there.

The adjustment of the renditions has alread taken place in the last deployment so this is already valid for the live pages.

Job Search Module Modification (mobile viewport)

The position of the Job Search Module on mobile viewports has been adjusted, so that it does not overlap the header image as much as it does right now and all relevant information on the image still gets displayed.
