New Features and Enhancements

NL & PT & PL - Domain verification Facebook

Because of the new iOS 14.4 update of Apple users were asked to allow tracking (third party cookies) in apps they use at the moment. As a consequence the data which is collected for Facebook and instagram can not or barely not be looked in to.

Therefore a HTML code has been implemented into the header of the ALDI Hompage so that the data can partly be tracked again.

Important Information

This code is now centrally managed and can be changed upon request for every country without having a system deployment.

Adjustment Product Recall

New Recall

An adjustment has been made for the Product Recall which will be perfomed for every market. Since the current Recall is at the very top of the page and has a signal red color it can distract from the actual content therefore it has been decided to replace the Recall more into the middle of the page with a lighter/ pastell red color.

The behavior of the Recall will be as usual - if there is more than one recall it will be displayed with a dropdown which can be opened to view all Recalls. 

The new recall needs to be configurated as following:

  1. Open the Recall page in the CMS (under the homepage) and cofigurate the Recall component as usual
  2. Open the Homepage or any other page where the Recall should be shown (in editor mode)
  3. Check that it is possible to add a Recall component into the page
  4. Open settings of the Recall component and add a title
  5. Save and publish the Recall Page and the page where the Recall component has been added in to
 

The Recall component can be added into these Pages:

  • Promoiton Week overview Page
  • Promotion Overview Page
  • Editorial Overview Page
  • Editorial Page
  • Enhanced Product Page
  • Product Overview Page
  • Shopping List Page

Important Information

 We will provide two Content Update tickets for you:

  • In case you have an active recall during the deployment period reach out to us in the ticket
  • Also with removing the old Recall it will be neccessary to reactivate all Error pages again.

Implement new article tile - Part 1

Some adjustments for the article tile are in the making these adjustemnts should lead the customer to use the reminder service and shoppinglist function more.

Following adjustments will be part of the new article tile in terms of reminder and shoppinglist:

  • Reminder and shoppinglist button will be available in the Offer Overvierpage on each article tile
  • Text should be not more than one row otherwise it will display "..." after the limit is reached
  • Button text on article tile and PDP can be cofigurated differently
  • If both buttons are configurated then only the icon will be displayed
  • If both buttons are configurated then the button with the mouseover will take the full length and overlap the other button
  • Instead of the tooltips the information for the buttons will be displayed as toast notification
  • If article is sold out the buttons will be not displayed

 

Also some general adjustments will be part of the new article tile:

  • Text on the tile is limited to two rows if there should be more text it will be displayed as ".."
  • If there are variants or types of the article, a variant text is displayed as a short description (max 1 row of text)
  • The editor can optionally maintain the brand name
  • The price label concludes with the lower edge of the picture
  • Legal text will be beneath the price lable (max 3 rows of text)
  • Backgorund color of flags are fixed (per color theme)
  • Date flag will be still available
  • Max of 1 marketing lable is allowed
  • Whole tile is clickable
  •  Current Hover State will remain

Important Information

The new article tile cannot be used yet since the CMS part is not implemented yet. 

This feature will be ready to use after the next release.

DK & ES - permanent redirects

DK removed some pages and wants to collect the content on https://www.aldi.dk/ansvarlighed/stop-madspild.html therefore some redirect to this page have been set.

Same for ES - in terms of a new summer campaign some

Enable Server-to-Server Newsletter Subscriptions for SFMC

As a part of the ordering process on ALDI delivery customers can subscribe to the newsletter which was connected to the Eletteshop until now. As the Eltershop is not used for this regard anymore it is ineffective to store the user data in there. Therefore a servlet has been created to register these user into SFMC.

Generate automatic contest ID

Contest ID field

A contest ID is always needed for setting up a contest form. Until now This ID was configurable in the AEM which is not optimal in case the contest form is connected to the SFMC. ID´s which get transfered to SFMC should be unique and unchangeable, therefore the settings for the contest ID will be seperated for Salesforce and Elettershop. 

If the contenst is connected to Salesforce (checkmark is  set on active) then the ID will be created automatically by the AEM and cannot be changed anymore. If the contest from ist connected to Elettershop then the setup is as usual and the ID can be named as wished in the AEM.

We will provide Content Update tickets for you and in case you have an active Contest going, please let us know in these tickets.

PL - UTM linking from banners on the main page

Parameter fields in AEM

After recent change of the Offers presentation, we have a problem with linking to Offers from the mainpage slider banners which made the usage of UTM parameters unworkable and slider banners with them linking to new offers doesn't work.

Therefore a solution will be provided which allows to integrate the parameters directly in the Stage component withing the AEM. 

 

With the following steps the parameter can be integrated:

  1. Open the settings of the Stage Slider
  2. Navigate to the tab THEME 
  3. See that there is a possibility to add parameters per theme (button called "Add field")
  4. Enter Name and Value of the parameter 
  5. Save and publish 

 

Unlock the EAN number on the contact form

Unlock the EAN number on the contact form

In the contact form (topic "Question about product") it is possible to fill in the EAN number for the article of matter. For this EAN number it should be possible to enter up to 13 digits to be able to accepts also newer EAN numbers. The pattern which allows the format of valid EAN entries can be set in the country page as following: 

  1. Open properties of Country Page
  2. Switch to tab country settings
  3. Search for "Validation Pattern for the EAN"
  4. Enter validation Pattern if it's not entered
  5. Save and publish the page

Important Information

The following pattern needs to be integrated in the Country Page: ^[\d]{8,13}$

A content update ticket will be provided.

Chat - Speech bubble proactively pops up if criteria is fulfilled

Customers should get the opportunity to reach out to ALDI directy per Chat in specific contact matters. This ensures that urgent questions can be answered to the customer directly and without facing long waiting times, 

 

If following criteria is set the speech bubble should pop up in the down right corner of the contact form:

  1. If the customer selected "Newsletter / Website / App" as a topic
  2. If an error message is shown on the page

Furthermore a toggle will be implemented to decide if the Chat should be active or not in gerenal. This toggle can be found in the settings of the contact form in the tab "topics overview" in the section of  "Newsletter / Website / App".

Important Information

This Feature cannot be used as it is not completey finished in the development and not ready to us yet, we will inform you as soon as it is ready to use.

Bugfixes

  • Onboarding overlaps Category Navigation - In the chapter Category Navigation Flyout there was an overlap on the onboarding Headline - this has been fixed.
  • Newsletter Account - Error Message displayed incorrectly - The Error message after unsubscribing the newsletter was disaplayed incorrectly - fixed.
  • Problem with Contact Form Salesforce Service Cloud relocation - On 1st of May the relocation to SFMC as been made so that requestes should be fowarded per Mail (stacked into a queue) to SFMC after 9pm. However there is a time period with no entries , this has been inversitgated and fixed.
  • Develop & Releasebuild 1.86 breaks - Build in Jenkins aborts in develop and release branch 1.86. Error messages indicate incompatibilities between type declarations and dependencies - this is fixed.
  • Job Search: Job Detail Page is not opened correctly - Job detail pages threw an error when opening the page - this has been fixed.
  • Newsletter Feedback Formular - There are some issues In the newsletter feedback formular, labels with commas are written incorrectly in the database - fixed.
  • image:caption is not visible in image XML file - The Media component had no image and media caption in the image sitemap after publishing - fixed.
  • Error Handling in script for advertised articles - The script threw out a NullPointerException after entering some specific variables - fixed.
  • Editorial Page / DAM and Youtube Video are missing in XML File (Editorial Page configurations) - Videos on published pages could not be found in the sitemap XML file - fixed.
  • Shopping List - Print View - The images in the print view of the shopping list were not displayed correctly - fixed
  • Article tiles are not being displayed on printable shopping list - Article Tiles were not displayed correctly in the shopping list print view - fixed.
