New Features and Enhancements

Enhancement Recipe Page:

Layout Recipe Page

The layout of the Recipe Page has been changed, regarding the following items:

  • the Print and Share buttons are displayed on the right hand corner next to the headline. On mobile, the Print button will not be displayed.
  • the Icons for difficulty level, working time and cooking time have been adjusted and are now displayed beneath the Header image.
  • the Ingredients and Preparation Steps are now displayed in two tabs
  • a Tipp component can be integrated in either of the two tabs, the layout of that component has changed as well

All existing recipes will automatically be displayed in the new styling.

Enhancement Job Detail Page

New Job Detail Page Layout

Within the Job Detail Page it is now possible to show Job Specific Images at the bottom of the page.

The mechanism works in the same way as for the header image:

  • the various images for the bottom image will be uploaded to the DAM, containing a specific ID in the image URL
  • within Talent link it can be decided which image with what ID should be displayed
  • depending on that selection the dedicated image will be displayed

Furthermore, the font color of the bottom part as well as the color of the bullet points have changed into a darker blue.

 

 

New Feature - Display of article stock avalability in the App (applies only for NL):

Stock availablity in APP

Within the App it will now be possible to show the stock availablity for articles. The information whether an article is available in stock or not is transfered to the App via SAP.
In the CMS it can be defined whether the stock availability should be shown in the App or not, by selecting the dedicated checkbox within the article template.
The default setting is set to "Don't show", but when selecting the checkbox within the article template this can be changed to "Show".
The field can also be integrated in the CSV upload.
The technical key needed is showAvailability. This needs to be integrated into the import list within the Page Properties of the Import from CSV folder in the tab CSV Import as well as in the column of the actual CSV file.
The settings needed for the import are "n" for "Don't show" and "y" for "Show".

Important Information

This feature is currently only available for NL.

We will keep you informed when the feature will be rolled out to the other markets as well.

Enhancement Promotion Pages - Headline behavior:

Day Headline in Promotion Day Pages

Until now, the title of the Promotion Day Pages had been displayed as a headline on top of the Promotion Day Pages. This headline could not be changed.
To have a more flexible handling of this headline, a new field was introduced in the Page Properties of the Promotion Day Page called Day headline.
By integrating a headline into this field, the values from the Page title can be overwritten. If the new field is left empty, the Page title will be displayed as a headline for the Promotion Day.

The design for the Usercentrics Cookie Consent had been adjusted and the colors adapted.

As already communicated, we are in the making of our new ALGOLIA search. Also in this release we had some achievements regarding this topic.

  • Omni Search - entered Text in the search box opens a suggest layer with relevant results
  • Highlighting in suggestions - the entered text from the searchbox is being highlighted in the results within the suggest layer
    • This is also available on mobile device (shows also up to 7 searchresults in the suggest layer)
    • Title, which is shown in the suggestlayer and link to results can be configured by each market 
  • All offers from the AEM will be transfered into Algolia search 
    • After publishing adjustments in the offers the Algolia search will update and transfer the new content

Analysis and technical tickets:

Connection of Newsletter to Salesforce for DE:

For DE the newsletter handling is switched from Elettershop to Salesforce.

Important Information

This change is currently only relevant for DE.

We will keep you updated when the feature is also rolled out to other markets.

Analysis - Loading speed of new Offer pages:

There is potential for optimizing of the loading time of the new Promotion Pages. Therefore, an analysis had taken place to find possible ways of reducing the loading time.

Enhancement PWA Push Notifications:

In regard to the Push Notifications an enhancment had been implemented: The Push Notifications only work when the  Cookies are accepted. The information whether this acceptance had been given is transfered to Cloudfront and thus communicated to the backend.

However, the PWA Push Notifications cannot be used directly yet. We will keep you informed about the progress.

Bugfixes

  • ES: Not possible to transfer product data from AEM to Salesforce - approved articles  data will be now transfered to Salesforce after publishing the related offer page.
  • Return to scroll position on offer Page when returning to page - After visiting a Product Detail Page and click on the "back to promotion page" or in general back button of the brower the user will be directed to the headline of the section which regards to the earlier clicked product.
  • Job Detail Page: Checkboxes are not available during initial creation - The Checkboxes for the new Job Detail Page features are now visible in the properties when creating a Job Detail Page.
  • BE : Error handling for importing article images - When importing article information from Mediabank to AEM, the download of the imported images does not return a error anymore.
  • Wrong font color in price reduction field in newsletter - The font color gets now also displayed in the newsletter after integrating or set a color theme with a font color for the price reduction flag.
  • Newsletter Account Page leads to a 404 - The Newsletter Account link leads to the actual page now.
  • Accordion: Table enhanced: Image for Legend - The image for Legends in a Enhanced Table within the Accordion component will now be displayed in the correct size of (32 x 32 px).
  • Promo URLs - There have been a few cases where clicking on a Promo URLs led to a 410 error. This has been fixed so all Promo URLs are leading nor to the actual redirect page.
  • Recipe Page: distance between Ingredient and Ingredient Headline too small - The distance has been optimized.
  • Not possible to close cookie banner with much content in history - FR only  - A scrollbar has been implemented which makes it possible again to close the banner or switch the parameters when a lot of content is added to the cookie banner. This applies for the Usercentrics Cookie banner, currently only live in FR.
  • Add legal Notes to Search Result Page - Legal notes are now displayed in the Search Result Page.
  • YouTube-Videos on Article Detail Page will not play - Youtube Videos can be now integrated again by ID/URL within the article detail page.
  • Not possible to open all article detail pages - After opening a page (Enhanced Product Page with Article Tile Group) and click on an article to open the article detail page it was not possible to navigate with the arrow buttons (<, >) to other product detail pages. Also, it was not possible to open certain article detail pages via promotion day pages. Both issues have been fixed.

Important Information:

New Cache Invalidation time and process:

With the deployment of Release 1.80 we will establish a significant change in the caching system to improve the deployment and general system performance. The current cache invalidation on the PROD and all instances will be replaced by a periodic execution (every 15 minutes).
Invalidated means that a validation of the cache is made against the publisher at the next request to check whether the resource is up to date. A content activation/deactivation of a page is immediately visible.

This means that in the worst case, publications are visible in Cloudfront after 75 minutes at the latest (previously 60 minutes). Global settings that do not directly affect pages, such as the Country Page, however, have a delay of 15 minutes (plus max. 60 minutes of Cloudfront) before these settings take effect.

Following paths are affected (examplary for Netherlands):

  • /content/aldi/netherlands/nl/web-consumer/
  • /content/aldi/netherlands/nl/webservice-root/

These changes do not affect files in the /dam subfolder and also no renditions of files. The timestamp of the files is decisive here.

If necessary, please inform other colleagues or service providers who need to be informed about this change.

New Jira Project:

With the 4th of January, our new Support Jira Project went live and the old project was closed down.

The old project must no longer be used, but you can still see your old tickets. Any ticket that had been open by the time of transition had been transferred to the new project, so your issues did not get lost.

If you should have any issues with logging into the new Jira project, please let us know.
